How to donate in your workplace

Does your workplace operate a charity donation system if not then why don't you suggest that they do. It can be as much as a £1 per week or even just the coppers from their pockets. Its amazing how it can mount up over the months. If your coleagues are more adventurious they could perhaps do some fundraising which can lift their spirits. Such as dress down Fridays to events where you can charge an entrance fee. Everyone gets a chance to choose which charities to support.

Donations through the postal services

If you would like, you can send a donation the old-fashioned way, via the good old postal system. The address, and the methods via which you can send your donation, are outlined below.

You can pay by personal check, bankers draft or postal order, even books of stamps would help us reach those who do not have access to a computer. To send your donation by post you may send it in the normal way you would send a letter by first or second class stamps. If you have to send cash, it would be advisable to send it by recorded delivery so that you have a record of it. Please send a stamped addressed envelope when requesting a receipt.

Although we are a relatively new organisation we are expanding at a phenomenal rate and are desperately in need of funds to help raise awareness and reach those who are suffering from this debilitating condition known as ARD (Adhesions Related Disorders). We receive many letters from women who do not have access to a computer and while we try our utmost to reply to them all by post, it's impossible without computers to give them the support that they need and believe me for those suffering, it is often a lonely existence, confused, frustrated, in chronic pain, many are bed ridden and receiving little or no answers from the medical profession or understanding from family or friends.

So if you got a new computer for your Xmas or your office is upgrading your laptop, ask you're boss and drop us a post, you could be saving someone’s life, literally.    Kath.Findlay@adhesions.org.uk
